What you’ll get up to:
Plan, prepare and deliver learning across the Creative Industries Pathway programme delivered at the QAHE Pathway College. Provide academic and pastoral support to students, responding promptly to all queries and being available during work hours. Complete an administration required including registers, student feedback, progress monitoring, sponsor reports, etc.
Pattern of Hours:
January: 7 hours (two 3-hour classes and one 1-hour tutorial)
February – April: 14 hours (four 3-hour classes and two 1-hour tutorials)
May – July: 7 hours (two 3-hour classes and one 1-hour tutorial)
What You’ll Bring to the Team: Please refer to the attached job description for further details on the Lecturer role. Key requirements include:
A minimum Level 6 qualification within a creative discipline (BA, BSc, BEd)
A relevant teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, Cert Ed, DET, DETLA, DipSol)
Ideally, experience working with international students at Levels 3 and 4; however, a strong interest in supporting learners’ development as they transition into Levels 4 and 5 is essential.

What will you be doing?
As Deputy Programme Leader, you will be responsible for assisting the Programme Leader in the leadership and academic management of the MSc Digital & Technology Specialist Degree Apprenticeship programme.
We use a blended learning approach to the delivery of our programmes, meaning that our Lecturers support learners through online content and activities, remote interactive sessions (e.g. WebEx or discussion forums) and in live-online or Face-to-Face workshops.
You will help to ensure compliance with academic and apprenticeship standards, providing a high-quality student experience and cultivating a high-calibre academic team.
Key Responsibilities
*Support the Programme Leader in the day to day running of the programmes to ensure the programme is fit for purpose & delivers an excellent learner experience
*Assist with preparation for exam boards and attend where necessary
*Liaise with Module Leaders and Lecturers regarding delivery, assessment, marking and management of modules
*Act as a point of contact for Module Leaders on the programme/s where required
*Monitor and review student’s achievement/progression, implementing additional support mechanisms as appropriate
*Deliver high-quality learning across the Digital Degree Apprenticeship programmes at Level 6 and 7.
*Development of course materials including videos for online learning, learning activities, slide decks and assessments for multiple modules within Degree Apprenticeships
*Provide in-depth expert knowledge in your subject area offering insights cross functionally when required
*Contribute to product maintenance:
-Checking existing material for accuracy
-Updating existing material - manuals and labs
-Creating new material
*Contribute to the wider team activities on assessment and teaching as required.
*Act as moderator and peer reviewer for modules on a termly basis.
*Positive ambassador for QA by performing to QA’s expected reputation for excellence and innovation
*Take ownership for own continuous professional development (CPD) to ensure up to date and relevant subject knowledge.
Criteria needed for this position
*MSc achieved in a STEM / Tech related subject
*Experience in a Programme Leader/Module Leader/Head of Level role within an educational setting
*Industry experience in one of these subject areas: IT Project management, Data, Software engineering, Cyber security

Do you have teaching experience in English or Business or Finance subjects at UG and PG level. Do you enjoy supporting students on a one-to-one basis, small tutorials, workshops etc. where you can assist our Higher Education students with Personal & Academic Study Skills. Many of our students are from overseas and often our students haven’t studied for a few years and both are examples of where your academic support is needed.

Here’s a little of what your role will entail:

To keep accurate tutorial records to monitor learner progress and achievement to deliver engaging and creative learning to meet the needs of the learner
To develop learning support and skills materials and resources (for face-to-face and online) and maintain them on the Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs)
To organise and promote Academic Community of Excellence (ACE) at QA events.
Bring your experience:
Post Graduate Qualification (Master’s/DELTA or equivalent)
Experience of delivering one-to-one academic tutorials and academic workshops
HE skills tutor experience (desirable)
Relevant teaching qualification HEA or demonstrate teaching experience with a commitment to achieving the required Professional Standards for teaching.

As Financial Accountant you will be responsible for the QA Higher Education’s Financial Reporting and financial controls including group and subsidiary statutory accounts, and JV statutory accounts, VAT return submission, corporation tax submission, internal controls and other regulatory reporting.
You will manage our financial controls and regulatory reporting, here’s some of the responsibilities for our role, please click through to the JD to read in more detail.
Oversee the timely production of annual group, subsidiary and JV statutory accounts.
Manage interim and year end audit process for group and the JVs.
Ensure VAT and corporation tax submissions are accurate, paid and filed on time.
Ensure any other regulatory reporting is accurate and submitted on time.
Assist with the preparation and review of balance sheet recs and other tasks as required.
Assisting with the preparation and review of working capital reporting including variance analysis.
Review and maintain accounting policies and procedures documents to ensure current and in line with relevant accounting standards.
Research and advise on any new accounting standards and regulatory reporting to ensure compliance including drafting policies, procedures and implementing controls for these.
Ensure appropriate financial controls are in place and functioning effectively. Review any issues arising and draft and implement mitigating controls and procedures for all areas of accounting and reporting.
Assist with any changes to group structure such as incorporation of new entities to ensure these are structured correctly and bank accounts and systems are in place in a timely manner for their operation.
Reports to other parties as required.
Bring your experience:
Professional accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA).
Previous experience in a role with accounting, compliance and auditing responsibilities.
Evidence of having monitored financial and operating processes and controls and provided recommendations for improvement.
Experience of managing the year end audit process.
Previous VAT and corporation tax experience.
Sound knowledge of IFRS, accounting principles, procedures and controls.
Experience with creating financial statements.
