What will you be doing?

As Deputy Programme Leader, you will be responsible for assisting the Programme Leader in the leadership and academic management of the MSc Digital & Technology Specialist Degree Apprenticeship programme.

We use a blended learning approach to the delivery of our programmes, meaning that our Lecturers support learners through online content and activities, remote interactive sessions (e.g. WebEx or discussion forums) and in live-online or Face-to-Face workshops.

You will help to ensure compliance with academic and apprenticeship standards, providing a high-quality student experience and cultivating a high-calibre academic team.


Key Responsibilities

*Support the Programme Leader in the day to day running of the programmes to ensure the programme is fit for purpose & delivers an excellent learner experience

*Assist with preparation for exam boards and attend where necessary

*Liaise with Module Leaders and Lecturers regarding delivery, assessment, marking and management of modules

*Act as a point of contact for Module Leaders on the programme/s where required

*Monitor and review student’s achievement/progression, implementing additional support mechanisms as appropriate

*Deliver high-quality learning across the Digital Degree Apprenticeship programmes at Level 6 and 7.

*Development of course materials including videos for online learning, learning activities, slide decks and assessments for multiple modules within Degree Apprenticeships

*Provide in-depth expert knowledge in your subject area offering insights cross functionally when required

*Contribute to product maintenance:

-Checking existing material for accuracy

-Updating existing material - manuals and labs

-Creating new material

*Contribute to the wider team activities on assessment and teaching as required.

*Act as moderator and peer reviewer for modules on a termly basis.

*Positive ambassador for QA by performing to QA’s expected reputation for excellence and innovation

*Take ownership for own continuous professional development (CPD) to ensure up to date and relevant subject knowledge.

 

Criteria needed for this position

*MSc achieved in a STEM / Tech related subject

*Experience in a Programme Leader/Module Leader/Head of Level role within an educational setting

*Industry experience in one of these subject areas: IT Project management, Data, Software engineering, Cyber security

*Teaching qualification achieved desirable
