  • Lecturer in Science Programmes Biology and/or Chemistry Flexible sessional teaching hours available Northumbria Newcastle Pathway Applied Science, Nursing & SGU Medical Programme All Teaching is on campus in Newcastle, Teaching commences October 25. Ability to commute & teach on campus required – no online sessions available We are seeking flexible and committed lecturers to join our teaching team on a Sessional Contract basis. If you have experience teaching Biology, Chemistry, or both, and enjoy working with a diverse, international student cohort, we would love to hear from you. About the Role: As a Lecturer in Biology and/or Chemistry, you will deliver engaging and high-quality teaching across our Applied Science, Nursing, and SGU Medical programmes. You will support students at foundation level, helping them develop the skills and knowledge needed for academic success and progression into their undergraduate degree. What You Will Be Doing: Teaching Biology and/or Chemistry modules as required. Preparing lesson plans, delivering classes, and assessing student work. Providing academic support and feedback to students. Working closely with programme leads to ensure a consistent and positive learning experience. What We Are Looking For: Experience teaching Biology and/or Chemistry, ideally within schools, FE colleges, or higher education. Ability to adapt teaching for international student needs. Strong subject knowledge and a commitment to student development. Flexibility to teach on a sessional basis, depending on programme needs. Are you an experienced academic or programme leader with a background in managing science programmes and supporting international students? We are seeking a committed and knowledgeable Senior Lecturer to join our team on a permanent basis, leading on Applied Science, Nursing, and working with our Programme Leader on our SGU Medical Programme. About the Role: As Senior Lecturer in Science, you will play a key role in leading, developing, and delivering programmes within our science portfolio, ensuring a high-quality learning experience for international students. You will support the academic management of modules, contribute to teaching, and guide students through their educational journey from foundation through to degree level study. You will work closely with colleagues to support student success and progression while ensuring programmes are managed in line with academic standards and quality assurance processes. Experience in running programmes in schools, FE colleges, or higher education institutions is essential. Key Responsibilities: Lead and oversee the delivery of Applied Science, Nursing and teach on the SGU Medical programme. Provide academic leadership to teaching teams. Develop curriculum content in line with university requirements. Contribute to teaching and assessment across science-related modules. Support student progress monitoring, feedback, and reporting processes. Ensure compliance with academic quality assurance and programme validation requirements. What You Will Bring: Proven experience in programme leadership or module management within education (schools, FE colleges, or higher education). Strong understanding of international student needs, including academic and pastoral support. Experience teaching or managing Applied Science, Nursing, or Medical-related programmes. A proactive approach to academic leadership and team management. Commitment to student success and progression.
